The theatre participates in different republican and international festivals. Tours have been made to France, Spain, Russia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and other places.

From 2000 Jonas Buziliauskas had been the leader of the theatre. The plays on stage are mostly national dramaturgy like Julija Zemaite “Marti”, Augustinas Gricius “Palanga” and others.

The newest play “Erelnycia” has been performed in two international festivals in Latvia. Lithuania folk culture centre awarded this performance with “The bird of gold” as the best performance of the season.

Juozas Marcinkevicius:
”Erelnycia”

(Nest of Eagle)

The drama refers to a real life story of the Lithuanian poet Andrius Vistelis-Visteliauskas, who lived in the 19th century and for his conviction was tossed around the world and died in a madhouse in Argentina. The play is placed in this madhouse. The poet lives an ordinary life with his friends in the madhouse, bur he never forgets that he is lithuanian and that his real mission in life is to propogate and enthrone Lithuanian language. He is sure that his language is so fine ald old that it was used by Adam and Eve in paradise…

Erlenycia is about the power to keep ones own conviction in any situation and not to loose human dignity.

The main theme of the play is the strong love for your native country.

It overcomes any other feeling. Erelnycia is especially typical for a period of big emigration.
